Our client wanted to make the best possible use of the space
for storage and incorporate unusual shaped corners.
A clean look that can flow through into the dining space,
modern with lots of light, not too minimal and cold.
A social space for all the family, some breakfast bar seating
and minimal use of height to stop the room feeling heavy and overpowering.

The key to creating this kitchen design was to ensure that the two angled corners were used to their full; by selecting an angled corner cabinet with rotating carousel mechanism it ensured that we not only turned the corners following the shape of the room, creating a design that flowed but also enabled good storage solutions in both corners.
A centre island was always going to be a snug fit in this room but to create the open plan, family space with seating the client desired, it was crucial. The use of angled furniture and worksurfaces worked with the room shape and allowed a good-sized island with plenty of walkway around it.
The decision to have an island hob came about from the client not wanting to cook facing a wall but the additional benefit was it enabled the use of some great storage wall cabinets where the hob would have naturally been placed.
A brilliant white lacquered door kept the room feeling light and spacious while the wood effect laminate feature gave warmth to the furniture to stop the room feeling to clinical. The final piece of the design was the feature granite used on the island, to this day it is our clients pride and joy! A true unique centre piece.
